Dress Code
At P.S. 48X, we encourage all students to wear uniforms each day to build school pride and a sense of community.
General Expectations
- Wear clean, comfortable, school-appropriate clothes.
- Must allow for running and active play (closed-toe shoes required).
- Clothing and other items must not disrupt the educational process or create safety concerns.
- Note: Popular fashions may not always be appropriate for an elementary school.
Inappropriate Clothing
- Poorly fitting clothing.
- Logos, slogans, or images with drugs, alcohol, violence, profanity, or sexual content.
- Revealing or immodest tops (halter, tube, spaghetti straps, low-cut, etc.).
- Shorts/skirts must be longer than closed-fist rule (arm at side).
Additional Restrictions
- Earrings, chains, or jewelry that dangle and may be dangerous during play.
- Shoes with open toes or excessive heels.
- Hats worn indoors or incorrectly.
