Amplify Desmos Math

This year, our school is introducing Amplify Desmos Math, a new math program created for NYC Public Schools. The goal is simple: help students see math as meaningful, engaging, and connected to the real world.
With Amplify Desmos Math, students will:

  • Learn by exploring — lessons encourage curiosity and problem-solving.
  • Share their thinking — whether on paper or using digital tools, students have many ways to show what they know.
  • Work together — activities are designed to spark discussion and teamwork.
  • Build confidence — students see themselves as capable mathematicians.

We’re excited to use this program for the first time and to watch our students grow as problem solvers this school year!

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

Our school uses HMH Into Reading, a comprehensive literacy program designed to develop reading, writing, and comprehension skills while fostering a love for learning. The curriculum offers engaging fiction and nonfiction texts, personalized support for students at different levels, and tools to monitor progress. It also integrates social-emotional learning themes to promote empathy and resilience. With family engagement activities included, parents can actively support their child’s literacy journey at home.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Passport to Social Studies is the NYC DOE’s inquiry-based curriculum that helps students explore history, geography, economics, and civics through engaging lessons. It encourages critical thinking and analysis of diverse perspectives using primary sources, maps, and artifacts. The program fosters empathy and social-emotional learning while developing research, writing, and discussion skills. Through this approach, students build an understanding of their community, the broader world, and their role as informed citizens.

SCIENCE

We are proud to continue using Amplify Science, a hands-on program that helps students think, investigate, and discover like real scientists. Lessons are built around real-world problems and give students opportunities to explore, ask questions, and find solutions.
At our school, science learning goes beyond the classroom with our Hydroponics Lab, where students grow plants and study ecosystems first hand. This unique space allows students to apply what they learn in Amplify Science to real experiments—connecting science concepts to the world around them.
Through reading, writing, discussion, and hands-on activities, Amplify Science and our Hydroponics Lab work together to deepen students’ curiosity and understanding of how science shapes everyday life.

TECHNOLOGY

As a 1:1 campus, every student has access to their own device—Chromebooks in the upper grades and iPads in the lower grades. Technology is integrated into daily instruction, giving students opportunities to research, collaborate, and create while building essential digital literacy skills. Our approach ensures that technology is not just a tool, but a resource that supports learning, problem-solving, and readiness for the future.

VISUAL ARTS

Our 3K and Pre-K students are introduced to visual arts through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and imagination. Using age-appropriate materials like paint, clay, and collage, children explore colors, shapes, and textures while developing fine motor skills. These early art

Dual Language

Our Dual Language program provides students with the opportunity to learn in both English and Spanish, building strong skills in two languages from an early age. Instruction is delivered in both languages across core subjects, giving children the chance to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, and a deep appreciation of diverse cultures. The program supports academic achievement while preparing students to thrive in a multilingual world.

Drama Program

Our brand-new Drama Program gives students the chance to explore the art of performance through acting, skits, and creative expression. Guided by experienced instructors, children learn how to use their voices, bodies, and imaginations to bring stories to life. Along the way, they develop confidence, teamwork, and communication skills that support their growth both on stage and in the classroom.

Digital Visual Arts

Students in grades K–5 engage in digital visual arts as part of their Social Studies classes. Using technology, they create projects such as illustrations, graphic designs, and multimedia storytelling that connect directly to what they are learning about history and culture. This approach encourages creativity and critical thinking while helping students see the connections between art, technology, and the world around them.
